The Paragon Flying Saucer LED Pendant Light is a wide, shallow disc available at 45, 55 and 65 centimetres, in black or with a steel wire suspension. It is a deliberately quiet light fixture: no visible bulbs, no ornament, just a clean horizontal plane floating above the table. In minimalist interiors and restaurant fit-outs, that restraint is the whole appeal.
The full underside is a diffuser, which is why the light lands so evenly. A disc this wide spreads neutral-toned light across a table top without the harsh edge you get from a narrow pendant, and because the source is hidden there is no glare when people are sitting beneath it. The larger sizes cover a six or eight seat table comfortably on a single fixing.
Steel wire suspension is adjustable, so the disc can hang low over a dining table or higher in a room with tall ceilings. The body is aluminium and the LED is integrated, meaning there is nothing to replace and the fixture stays cool in use. As a guide, hang the disc so its underside sits about 75 centimetres above the table, and step up a size if the table is wider than 1.2 metres.
